SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the matchup of the fourth annual Hall of Fame Women’s Holiday Showcase on Tuesday, December 19 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Local favorite and 11-time National Champions UConn will take on Oklahoma, who finished the 2016-17 season with a record of 23-10 and a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the 18th consecutive year.
“For the fourth year in a row, basketball fans will have the opportunity to see two of the best teams in the women’s game compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Holiday Showcase,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “Mohegan Sun continues to be a tremendous partner and outstanding venue for the teams and fans alike. We look forward to hosting the Connecticut basketball community once again and welcome those who will be making the trip from Oklahoma.”
The game is the first of a four-year series in which Oklahoma will travel to Connecticut in 2017 and 2019, while the UConn Huskies will make the trip to the Lloyd Noble Center or Chesapeake Energy Arena in 2018 and 2020. The programs have played a total of 10 times, including the 2002 NCAA National Championship. UConn leads the all-time series 10-0.

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, September 8 at 10am ET via all Ticketmaster outlets and the Mohegan Sun Arena box office. Game time, television details an exclusive pre-sale opportunity for the University of Connecticut, will be released at later date.
