Support the Hall

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. As an independent free-standing museum, the Basketball Hall of Fame relies on charitable support to fulfill its mission.

Established in 1959 in Springfield, Massachusetts by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame stands as a testament to the achievements of individuals across all levels of basketball. What sets us apart from other Halls of Fame is our inclusive approach. We celebrate players, coaches, college and professional athletes, as well as both women and men from domestic and international backgrounds.

At the heart of our mission lies the Museum: a 40,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art exhibit space completely renovated to share the rich history of the game through a captivating blend of artifacts and digital storytelling. However, revenue from visitor admissions only covers a fraction of our annual needs to further our mission.

Operated without subsidy or funding from any league or agency, the Hall relies on generous contributions to sustain our efforts in preserving basketball's history and honoring its remarkable individuals. Your donation ensures that we can continue to celebrate the people of basketball while inspiring the next generation of fans and players.
