Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce played basketball as if the game came to him in slow-motion. Deceptively quick, effortlessly smooth, and innately calm even in the most pressure-filled situations, the ten-time NBA All-Star torched the League for the famed Boston Celtics for 15 seasons. There were no holes in his offensive game. Pierce was equal parts slasher, three-point threat, and midrange specialist. The Truth employed all of those tools to lead the Celtics to the 2008 NBA championship. The California native was named Finals Most Valuable Player for his performance against the team he grew up idolizing: the Los Angeles Lakers. While he was never hurried or rattled on the offensive end, Pierce’s competitive drive intensified his battles with some of the era’s greatest small forwards and shooting guards including Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, and LeBron James. Pierce recorded 26,397 points, 7,527 rebounds, and 4,708 assists in 19 seasons and at the time of his retirement ranked in the top five in more than a dozen statistical categories for the Boston Celtics.
