Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Five Finalists for 2020 Julius Erving Award

Mar 04, 2020 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the five finalists for the 2020 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1993 Hall of Famer and 16-year professional basketball player Julius Erving, the annual honor in its sixth year recognizes the top small forwards in Division I men’s college basketball.

Named after Class of 1971 Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross point guard Bob Cousy, the annual honor now in its seventeenth year recognizes the top point guards in Division I men’s college basketball.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Winners of 2020 Morgan Wootten Award Presented by the Elks Hoop Shoot

Feb 26, 2020 - Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the winners of the 2020 Morgan Wootten Award for Lifetime Achievement in Coaching High School Basketball. This prestigious award presented by the Elks Hoop Shoot is named after Morgan Wootten, who served as the Head Coach of DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsvile, Maryland for 46 years and is one of four high school coaches enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The annual award recognizes two outstanding high school coaches, one for boys’ basketball and one for girls’ basketball.
