PHOENIX – The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams and game schedule for the 2025 Hoophall West, an annual high school basketball showcase now in its 12th year. The event will be held at Highland High School in Gilbert from Thursday, January 2 to Saturday, January 4, and is joined by the newly created Nike Tournament of Champions for boys’ teams that replicates the very popular high school girls tournament played each December in Phoenix.
For the first time, Hoophall West will feature an eight-team tournament, a six-team round-robin style showcase, four Nike Elite Youth Scholastic League (EYSL) games, and two showcase games featuring four of the top teams in the country.
“We have been proud to bring the nation’s top talent to the desert for the last 12 years,” said John L. Doleva, President & CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. “The introduction of the tournament and strengthening the competition in our round-robin and EYSL showcases helps us usher Hoophall West into a new era as we look to consistently provide fans in the valley with high-level matchups you won’t find anywhere else. We are happy to collaborate with the Nike Tournament of Champions to create a large festival of high school basketball in the Phoenix area.”
Marquee high school games for 2025 include Arizona Compass Prep (AZ) vs. Wasatch Academy (UT), Perry (AZ) vs. Harvard Westlake (CA), and Utah Prep (UT) vs. Faith Family (TX). A full schedule can be found below. Broadcast details will be released at a later date.
Sponsors of Hoophall West include Nike, Grand Canyon University, Spalding, and Gatorade. The Hall of Fame has partnered with both the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association and the Nike Tournament of Champions for this event in the 2024-2025 season. The field of teams for the Nike Tournament of Champions will be released at a later date but is expected to feature 100+ high school teams from around the country.
