- Morgan Stanley’s Global Sports & Entertainment Division Will Again Host Financial Education Programming Onsite During the 2024 Spalding Hoophall Classic -
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and LEARFIELD have announced that Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment (GSE) will return as the financial education sponsor for the prestigious Spalding Hoophall Classic high school showcase. In their second year of sponsorship, Morgan Stanley GSE will continue to develop tailored financial education programs, tools, and resources for some of the country’s top prep basketball student-athletes, and lead in-person programming for this year’s participants in Springfield, Mass., on select days throughout the event.

Additionally, Morgan Stanley GSE and the Basketball Hall of Fame will, together, honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., paying tribute to his life and legacy across all five nationally televised (ESPN) Hoophall Classic games on Monday, January 15.

This year will mark the 22nd year of the Hoophall Classic. This event will feature 32 games played over five-days, throughout Martin Luther King Day Weekend, at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. This year’s star-studded field, which boasts teams from 15 states, will feature 51 total players in ESPN’s Top 100 from the Class of 2024 (43 boys and 8 girls), including nine of the boy’s top 10 ranked players. Additionally, both the No. 1 ranked boys recruits in the 2025 and 2026 classes are scheduled to participate.
Over the years, the Hoophall Classic has hosted more than 150 future NBA players during their prep careers, including Kevin Durant (2006), Kyrie Irving (2010), Anthony Davis (2011), Karl-Anthony Towns (2014), Jayson Tatum (2016), Deandre Ayton (2017), Zion Williamson (2018) and Anthony Edwards (2019-20); and featured the first 5 players taken in the 2021 NBA Draft: Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, and Jalen Suggs.
