- Recent Celtics’ NBA Finals Trophy to be Available for Photos with Museum Visitors -
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced that the official Larry O’Brien Trophy, celebrating the Boston Celtics’ 18th NBA Championship victory in June, will be on display at the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5. Museum guests will have the opportunity to see the iconic trophy in person and take photos with it during their visit.
The Larry O’Brien Trophy, named after the former NBA Commissioner and Springfield, Mass., native who was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991, has been awarded annually to the NBA Finals champion since 1977.
The trophy, which was provided to the Hall of Fame by the Celtics, will be displayed in the Hall of Honor this Friday from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, offering fans an unforgettable experience to get up close to a piece of basketball history. Viewing and photographs with the trophy are included with regular Hall of Fame admission.

Along with the trophy, Celtics fans will be able to experience the museum’s newest and most innovative exhibit, The Vault: Boston Celtics Unlocked, which opened in May. Visitors will step into an immersive bank vault for a one-of-a-kind journey through the history of the NBA’s most storied franchise. Current and former Celtics legends will be the guides for a unique celebration of Celtic Pride, from Walter Brown to Jaylen Brown, through artifacts such as authentic game-worn jerseys, championship rings, the original 1981 NBA championship trophy, long-lost footage, and much more.
