SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Jan. 22, 2019) — In its first year as presenting sponsor of the annual Spalding Hoophall Classic, Eastbay revives the highly touted All-Showcase Team, celebrating the top five performers at the 2019 showcase, regardless of position.
The student-athletes named to the Eastbay All-Showcase Team listed in order of votes received include: Scottie Lewis (Ranney School – Tinton Falls, N.J.), Brandon Boston (Norcross HS – Norcross, Ga.), Sharife Cooper (McEachern HS – Powder Springs, Ga.), Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (IMG Academy – Bradenton, Fla.) and Keion Brooks (La Lumiere School – La Porte, Ind.).
Lewis led Ranney School to a win over Federal Way High School with 26 points. Boston contributed 26 points, four steals and three rebounds in his team’s win over Roselle Catholic. On the final day of the showcase, Cooper of McEachern High School delivered 27 points and three steals in a close game against Rancho Christian.
During one of the most anticipated matchups of Hoophall Classic – IMG Academy versus Oak Hill Academy – Robinson-Earl put up 18 points and tallied a staggering 26 rebounds. Brooks of LaLumiere School handled DeMatha Catholic in a blowout win, leading his team in scoring with 25 points and 14 steals.
With more than 50 teams featured in Springfield, Mass., the birthplace of basketball, the Eastbay All-Showcase Team was decided by industry-leading media partners attending and reporting on the event, based on the players’ performance during the 2019 Spalding Hoophall Classic Presented by Eastbay.
In addition to the Eastbay All-Showcase Team, the athletic performance retailer also celebrated the Most Outstanding Player Award Presented by Eastbay for each of the 27 matchups. A complete list of recognized student-athletes as selected by the Basketball Hall of Fame committee is below.
