- 18 of ESPN’s Boys Top 25 High School Programs to Participate -
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. — The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the broadcast schedule for the 2025 Army National Guard Hoophall Classic, presented by Spalding, an annual basketball showcase now in its 23rd year. Games will be played at Blake Arena at Springfield College from January 16-20, the Birthplace of Basketball.
ESPN is returning as a broadcast partner, with nine matchups broadcast nationally across Sunday and Monday’s schedules. Coverage starts on Sunday with Brewster Academy (NH) vs. Oak Hill Academy (VA), at 1:00 PM. Two matchups will be broadcast on ESPN2, five on ESPNU, and two on ESPN+.
The NBA also returns as a distribution partner, streaming five games across Friday and Saturday’s slate on the NBA App and NBA YouTube as part of its Future Starts Now initiative. Additionally, coverage and highlights from each game will be featured on the NBA App, @NBA and @NBAFutureStartsNow.
BallerTV continues as a broadcast partner for the event and will stream 18 games throughout the weekend.
Eighteen of ESPN’s Top 25 High School basketball programs will participate in the event: IMG Academy (#1), Prolific Prep (#2), Christopher Columbus (#3), Brewster Academy (#4), Montverde Academy (#6), La Lumiere (#7), St. John Bosco (#9), Long Island Lutheran (#10), Gonzaga (#12), Utah Prep (#13), Paul VI (#14), Sidwell Friends (#16), Grayson (#17), Arizona Compass (#18), Perry (#20), Oak Hill (#21), Notre Dame (#22), and Roosevelt (#24).
The tournament will feature seven women’s games this year, including two nationally televised games: Long Island Lutheran (NY) vs. IMG Academy (FL) and Etiwanda High School (CA) vs. Incarnate Word (MO). Ten of the Class of 2025’s HoopGurlz WESPN Top 100 recruits will be on display, as well as 10 from the Class of 2026’s Super 60 and one from the Class of 2027’s Terrific 25 and multiple nationally ranked teams.
Since 2015, 63 Hoophall Classic participants have gone on to play in the NBA, including Jaylen Brown (2015), Jamal Murray (2015), Bam Adebayo (2016), Jayson Tatum (2016), Zion Williamson (2018), Cade Cunningham (2020), and Reed Sheppard (2023). NBA superstars Kevin Durant (2006), Kyrie Irving (2010), Anthony Davis (2011), and Karl-Anthony Towns (2014) have also participated in the event. Nine of the last 13 No. 1 overall picks in the NBA Draft have played at the Hoophall Classic. This year, Hoophall Classic will feature 35 players in ESPN’s Top 100 from the Class of 2025 (eight of the Top 10), 20 from the Class of 2026 Top 60, and four from the Class of 2027 Top 25.
