Event to Virtually Showcase Eight Local Matchups in Arizona with the Support of BHHS Legacy Foundation and Grand Canyon University
Phoenix, Ariz. – With the Arizona Interscholastic Association ruling in favor of resuming high school athletics, the Basketball Hall of Fame will be launching a reimagined version of its eighth annual Air Force Reserve Hoophall West. The event was realized through a recently formalized partnership between the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association.
Hoophall West game action will take place at eight Arizona high schools from Tuesday, January 26 to Friday, February 5. The event will feature eight boys and girls teams ranked in The Arizona Republic’s preseason Super 10. A complete schedule can be found below.
All games will be played in accordance with COVID safety regulations set forth by the AIA and local ordinances, such as mask wearing by players, coaches, staff and spectators at all times, social distancing, and limited attendance. With limited attendance in mind, the Basketball Hall of Fame will offer live streams of all eight games via Synergy on TheHoophallClassic.com/West.
“While the pandemic has required us to make modifications to many of our events, we’re proud to continue our support of high school basketball and provide an elevated experience to several teams in Arizona this year,” said Greg Procino, Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “With the support of our tremendous partners, the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association, BHHS Legacy Foundation and Grand Canyon University, Hoophall West games will be available virtually to the friends, families and fans of our participating teams at no cost.”
All participating teams will receive Basketball Hall of Fame product and games will be live streamed by Synergy. Sponsors of Air Force Reserve Hoophall West include BHHS Legacy Foundation, Grand Canyon University, the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association, Gatorade and Nike.
