Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that in honor of National Epilepsy Awareness month, the Hall of Fame will be turning the dome purple from November 14-17, 2013. Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures affecting several different mental and physical functions; it is also considered a seizure disorder that affects over 2.2 million Americans, and over 65 million people worldwide. Approximately 1 in 26 people in the US will develop Epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. November has been declared National Epilepsy Awareness Month, and the Epilepsy Foundation has begun a “30 Days 30 Ways to Take Action” campaign that focuses on bringing awareness to the medical condition as well as providing information to those that are suffering from the disorder.
