Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Narrows Watch List for 2019 Bob Cousy Award

Feb 04, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 10 candidates for the 2019 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1971 Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy, the annual honor now in its sixteenth year recognizes the top point guards in Division I men’s college basketball. A national committee comprising top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates in October, which has now been narrowed to just 10.

Fourteen Nationally Ranked High School Teams Scheduled to Participate in the 18th Annual Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay

Jan 07, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame confirmed today the schedule for the 2019 Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay. The event is an annual basketball showcase now in its eighteenth year at Springfield College, the birthplace of basketball. Games will be played Jan. 17-21, 2019 at Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College.

Dec 21, 2018 - SPRINGFIELD, MA – Today, December 21st, marks the Birthday of Basketball – the game that was invented by Dr. James Naismith in Springfield, Massachusetts and has grown into an international pastime. As part of the celebration of this momentous day, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the eligible candidates for the Class of 2019, including the addition of a new direct-elect category for Women Veterans.
