Basketball Hall of Fame to Host First International Event in Belfast, Northern Ireland this December

Mar 03, 2017 - Springfield, MA – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams for the first-ever Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, a college basketball tournament held in conjunction with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Sport Changes Life, Rory McIlroy’s Foundation, the Rory Foundation, and The SSE Arena, Belfast. The two-day tournament held on December 1 and 2, will feature Holy Cross vs. Manhattan College and La Salle University vs. Towson University, followed by consolation and championship play on the second day.

Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Winners of 2017 Morgan Wootten Award

Feb 28, 2017 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the winners of the 2017 Morgan Wootten Award for Lifetime Achievement in Coaching High School Basketball. This prestigious award is named after Morgan Wootten, who served as the Head Coach of DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsvile, Maryland for 46 years and is one of two high school coaches enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The annual award recognizes two outstanding high school coaches, one for boys’ basketball and one for girls’ basketball.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Beta Sigma Boulé Announce Second Annual “Education & Leadership Luncheon”

Feb 27, 2017 - SPRINGFIELD, MA – Last year, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced its formal strategic alliance with Beta Sigma Boulé, the Springfield member boulé of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity. The focus of Sigma Pi Phi and its 5,000 members is leadership, education and social action by supporting and mentoring young men in the African American community. The Basketball Hall of Fame is supporting this cause by helping to improve the opportunities and futures open to young African American males in the Springfield area.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Selections for 2017 Western Massachusetts Senior All-Star Games

Feb 24, 2017 - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the team rosters for the 2017 Western Massachusetts Senior High School All-Star Games. The 2017 All-Star event will be held on Friday, March 24 on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams at the Hall of Fame. A total of 60 players were selected from different divisions within the region to participate in three games that will showcase the top seniors in their final high school contest.
