Jerry Reinsdorf
Jerry Reinsdorf began his foray into professional basketball in late 1984 when an opportunity presented itself to take over ownership of the Chicago Bulls. Reinsdorf, a native of Brooklyn, New York, was already entrenched in the Chicago sports scene with his purchase of the south side Sox just a few years earlier. Armed with a law degree earned from Northwestern and a business acumen forged from equal parts hard work and common sense, Reinsdorf recognized the potential synergy between the two major sports franchises. Soon the Chicago Bulls turned around, thus marking the beginning of one of the most successful runs in professional sports. Under his tenure as owner, the Bulls have featured Hall of Fame players Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan while helping to launch the career of one of the most successful coaches in history, Phil Jackson. Reinsdorf is a respected and influential owner whose approach to business has resulted in innovation, enrichment, and overarching success.
