Gary Payton
Gary Payton was a nine-time NBA All-Star and nine-time All-Defensive First Team member. He redefined the guard position with his defense, one of the few at his position to take over games on the defensive side from the backcourt. He led the Sonics to the 1996 NBA Finals and ten years later was a member of the Miami Heat team with Shaquille O'Neal and Dwayne Wade that won the 2006 NBA title. Nicknamed The Glove for his defense, he was a lockdown, trash-talking, steal-making menace on the court. Payton was an All-America at Oregon State and even brought home two gold medals, in 1999 and 2000.
