Bill Sharman

Bill Sharman is one of a select group of individuals in NBA history to win a championship as both a player and a coach. Known for his willingness to spend countless hours in the gym perfecting his skills, Sharman brought a disciplined work ethic to the game. A superb 15-letter athlete at Porterville (CA) High School, Sharman was a bona fide star at the University of Southern California where he was a two-time All-Pacific Coast Conference selection and Conference MVP. In ten seasons with the Celtics, Sharman teamed with Bob Cousy to form one of the NBA's most formidable and championship-laden backcourt duos. He was a superb foul shooter, leading the league seven times in free throw percentage. In a 15-year coaching career, Sharman was the first coach to win championships in three different pro leagues.
