Spire Institute (OH) to take on Bella Vista Prep (AZ) on Friday, December 7th

 

 

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the addition of Spire Institute (OH) and Bella Vista Prep (AZ) to the field of teams for the 2018 Hoophall West, an annual basketball showcase now in its sixth year. The event serves as the west coast version of the original Springfield, Massachusetts-based Hoophall Classic – an event that has featured many of the top prep teams and players for more than 15 years. Hoophall West game action will take place at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale on December 6th, 7th and 8th.

Marquee matchups for 2018 include Chicago Simeon (IL) vs. Rancho Christian (CA), Bishop Gorman (NV) vs. Denton Guyer (TX), Spire Institute (OH) vs. Bella Vista Prep (AZ), Hillcrest Prep (AZ) vs. Denton Guyer (TX) and Shadow Mountain (AZ) vs. Chicago Simeon (IL).  Pinnacle (AZ) vs. San Joaquin Memorial (CA) will be televised on ESPN2 on December 6th and a number of games will be available on ESPN+. Last year’s Hoophall West games were highlighted by Timmy Allen (Utah), Keldon Johnson (Kentucky), David McCormack (Kansas) and Shareef O’Neal (UCLA). This year’s standouts from the Class of 2019 include De'Vion Harmon (Denton Guyer, Oklahoma), Jaelen House (Shadow Mountain, Arizona State), Nico Mannion (Pinnacle, Arizona), Isaiah Mobley (Rancho Christian, USC), LaMelo Ball (Spire Institute, Undecided) and 7’7” Robert Bobroczky (Spire Institute, Undecided).

From the Classes of 2020 and 2021, players to watch include ESPN’s #1 ranked player Evan Mobley (Rancho Christian), Jalen Green (San Joaquin), Kyree Walker (Hillcrest Prep) and Jaden Hardy (Coronado).

Supporting sponsors of Hoophall West include Nike, Grand Canyon University, Gatorade, Blacktop Basics and Heated Sole. Heated Sole will be on-site to treat fans to a preview experience of their sneaker culture showcase scheduled to take place at the Jerry Colangelo Classic at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Sunday, December 9. Hoophall West pre-sale tickets are available for just $10 starting November 1. With the addition of the Inspire Institute and Bella Vista matchup, ticket prices remain the same and all previously purchased Friday tickets will include entrance to this game.
